MISSION STATEMENT/SERVICE OBJECTIVE
 A. The mission of First Step Supportive Living Services (FSSLS), in
partnership with the Regional Center, is to provide individuals with
developmental disabilities opportunities to live safely and successfully in
their own homes in their own community. Our mission is
to promote and encourage self-determination. Finally, our vision is of a
society that values each individual and provides the opportunity for all
people to lead full and productive lives
B. The objective of First Step Supportive Living Services (FSSLS) is to
support eligible individuals by generating appropriate funding and services
from a variety of agencies and generic resources such that each individual in
our program can live safely and successfully in the community while leading a
full and productive life.
C. The primary population served by the First Step Supportive Living Agency (FSSLS)
is made up of individuals eligible for Regional Center services who generally
need “eyes-on” supervision or “hands-on” care the majority of their day. First
Step SLS intends to serve individuals with intensive behavioral issues,
health-care needs, and/or physical disabilities. Individuals who, with the
support of Regional Center, are transitioning from Level 4 facilities, ICFDD
facilities, or other state run residential programs, as well as individuals
moving from their family homes. Finally the First Step Supportive Living
Agency will consider all eligible individuals who are deaf or hearing impaired
and use sign language as a primary means of communication.
